PDP not taking chances
Former Deputy Senate leader and stalwart of People’s Democratic party (PDP) Senatorial Jonathan Silas Zwingina has declared that the involvement of the campaign train of the eleven governorship aspirants is an indication of the seriousness of the PDP.
Zwingina, who is also the chairman of Fintiri campaign organization, told Daily Sun that the PDP is a serious minded party that is desirous of removing the state from the doldrum of underdevelopment as perpetrated by Nyako led administration.
He stated that as patriotic and selfless individuals, the eleven aspirants have elected to allow the Acting Governor Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to end the tenure of the impeached Governor Nyako because of his transparent leadership style.
The former Deputy Senate leader said within two months, Fintiri has effected changes in the administrative and political landscape of the country, by not allowing business a unusual.
According to Zwingina, Fintiri has endeared himself to the civil servants in Adamawa state by paying their backlog of salaries and arrears accumulated by Nyako’s administration, while Yola, the state capital is wearing a new look in terms of streetlights, water supply and awards of road contracts.
Zwingina stated that the warm reception accorded Fintiri during the campaigns in the North and Southern senatorial districts are eloquent testimony of the disenchantment of the people with the Nyako’s administration.
“Every where we went to, the story is the same. Our people are crying of lack of infrastructures and are disenchanted with the administration of the impeached Nyako,” Zwingina reported.
According to him, with the little efforts made by the Acting Governor Fintiri, a new trend has been experienced and expressed, hoping that if elected, Adamawa would witness a transformation in all spheres of development.
